I've always had my bedroom painted in a dark, soft cocoa after seeing this room. It's cosy in the winter, cool and serene in the summer, and makes whatever's hung on the walls look especially vivid and beautiful. The key to balancing it out is lots of white trim and white linens.

A pimped out ping-pong table made of glass & steel is the entry-hall table of choice in the entrance to Ellen & Portia's Beverly Hills home (Architectural Digest Nov '11). love this idea SO MUCH. You enter the house & right away you're shifted into a playful state of mind.
Domino introduced most of us to Paul Costello's photography, and we're so glad they did. He's such a talent.

There's something so cute to me about trad guys who also have a "more is more" aesthetic. The two things don't seem to go together, and yet they manage to make it work, and then some. E.g., Nick Olsen, here in his Nolita apt.

possibly one of my favorite galleries, not for the arrangement of shapes but for the sense of color. it really works with those pinks and terra cottas.
