I have a gas stove that is self cleaning. I put everything that comes off the top into the oven when I "clean" it. It burns off as you just have to rinse the ashes.

Saw this tip on a Japanese TV station wayyy back when I lived in Japan and it works very well. If you want to do your stove top too just spray with ammonia and cover with cling wrap... works great!

Ok I tried this..after 12 hours,had to cook breakfast, couldn't believe how easy to clean, just rinsed & they looked like new:) the other 2 are still soaking will let them stay full 24 hrs...thanks for the great tip:). One question: can I do the burners the same way?
