I have one of the giant Wilton cupcake pans, which looks like it was used to make the outside shell, and then the cake layers were probably made and trimmed to fit the inside of the shell.

Somebody figure out how to do this at home for a lot less...looks like you could use brownie mix for the cake...poured chocolate for the top. Somehow you would either paint the outer shell on or maybe wrap with some kind of shell and sculpt or possibly there is a pan for doing this as well. I haven't gotten that far yet.

There are pans like this for making large tarts. It would be smaller but the same idea. Just wake sure that your pan is frozen when making the chocolate shell.The rest of the cake could be any peanut butter chocolate moose cake recipe. The top would just be more melted chocolate. Just wake sure you freeze every layer before starting the next.
