I got it from here- but i didn't use fabric, my boyfriend made circles in the metal with his buffer and welded the bottom tray.

suggest gluing the magnets to the lid of your mineral jars. that way you can see the color better and then you can reuse the lids with magnets already glued to them. :)(:
Emily Timlin
ah! yeah that would have been good because on the bigger jars i just put the magnet lower so i could still see the color but on the smaller ones i took off the sticker and replaced the sticker with the color name on the magent

I have a tutorial on YouTube but I use a picture frame instead.. http://www.youtube.com...

Canadian tire in Canada sells metal cans with magnets on the bottom. They are for spices but would work for this

Have done a variation of this with my make-up for a few years now. You can buy rolls of magnetic "tape" that works well. Also ikea sells neat metal magnetic tins that are marketed as pen/pencil holders that work well for brushes, mascara etc. They also carry several different style magnetic boards as office/desk organizers and the spice cans mentioned above!

I got the magnets from hobby lobby they are a strength 6, I thought they were going to be strong at first but they are perfect! My boyfriend works in a body shop so he welded the tray to it and put dividers in it as well!
Becky Stinson
Tell your boyfriend he did an awesome job! The bottom try with dividers is perfect! You could sell these on etsy and make some money. Thanks for sharing :)

my husband and i did one, the magnet roll from Michaels, it had to be superglued on to the makeup containers, and some stuff was to heavy, i will need to get the bigger maganets. this really puts what you have out so you can find it.

I didn't have time to be crafty, so I just bought a framed whiteboard. They are magnetic.:) I'll decorate it when I have more time :)
Emily Timlin
Sure! I got the frame from Michaels, circular magnets from hobby lobby (they are a strength 6 so I only had to use 1 magnet on everything even my bronzer!) then a sheet of metal from a hardware store. My boyfriend measured and cut the metal to fit in the frame and used his buffer to make the circles in the metal- then he welded the bottom tray with the extra metal (he does body work so he's quite talented lol) then I used a hot glue gun and glued all the magnets in the back of my make-up! It's absolutely the best thing ever and such a space saver!!!! I never knew taking a picture of it and adding it on here would get this big of a response lol!!
Emily Timlin
The backing is made of pure metal from the hardware store lol my boyfriend just buffed the circles in it that's why it looks different

Haha heather I know! I'm thinking when I can't work when I'm in hygiene school maybe I'll make these since everyone loves it- this is crazy!

Emily Timlin
How much do you think they would be worth if I sold them? Better yet how much would everyone pay for one?
Luv MyEe
I would def buy this, esp since I don't have time right now to sit down & get any projects started.

NEED THIS! my makeup is currently scattered among millions of bags throughout my townhouse/car.
Nunu M
how much would you be willing to sell this for? im not really comfortable with suggesting a price because i'm unsure of how much the materials cost in addition to the amount of time and effort put in by you to make this happen :)
Amy Marseglia
I might need a few - I have so much makeup. I might try it though for some of the extras I use every now and then. I think it's a great idea and a neat display for a room.

If you were to sell these I would definitely buy it. I really want one, but I don't have the time to be "crafty". If you are serious about selling them please email me: cstromatt81@gmail.com. Thanks! :-)

Rachel Settle
I will buy one too if you have chosen to sell them! One just like this! : ) It is the BEST I have seen. I even made one of the fabric ones you see all over pinterest and I was very disappointed in it. Let me know if you're selling and how much you're asking. Please! rachsettle@yahoo.com
