I was under the impression that the same characteristics of yellow that make babies cry also makes adults bicker. Wasn't threesome study about couples fighting in yellow kitchens?

I wonder what category light grey fall into, since I wanted to paint my bedroom/office that way.

I once read that you should paint your guest room yellow so guests leave sooner. While very cheering at first, the colour soon wears on the soul.

notice how Dr offices are always shades and tints of green. I painted my livingroom a very pale green. My friend Said it was the same color they painted the insides of subs ( at least the ones he served on ) He called it compliance green or submission green. He never liked the color of my living room , but he sure did help fix up my house. lol

@Lydia Hughes you are right about yellow - at first it seems like a burst of "cheerful" energy ( kinda like those ppl you know .. c'mon everyone knows one- they are so hi energy that after awhile u wanna just get *away*), but yea too much exposure to yellow can just make you hostile! Boy , that explains *a lot* about my mom's behavior after spending years w/ a yellow I couldn't stand ..

@Gerrie Gilchrist I have heard of *that* particular shade of green as "compliance green" & "institution green" , I guess because they used it in so many areas where they needed calm and compliance ( as you mentioned, submarines, also schools , hospitals - I actually chose a similar color for myself, as well. But mine must have come across as almost grey or sage . However, I must have some deep need to have a lot of green as Im redecorating right now and chose Black Spruce for the LvRm & Pomegranite for the BdRm. w/ deep Penny copper accent w/ the spruce & A really light satiny ( instead of metal) , Rose Copper for the accent w/ the Pom. BdRm... Well.. at least it'll be colorful! But now I'm re thinking the kitch. & bath . Any ideas?

I am redoing my kitchen also. I may go with a light golden yellow on the walls, cream cabinets, lot of red her and there, green was the other choice for the walls. I picked a bunch of different fabrics for the curtains 1st noticed a color trend. There will be a back splash of colorful tiles most likely mexican. I am an artist and I noticed that all the paintings I have in the kitchen /dinning room combo are red domotate. That is why I choice this path for the kitchen it is going to be fun and playful

Actually, painting your kitchen BLUE will help curb appetite, thus help slimming! Painting bedroom GREEN will make your skin look green naked, probably better painting bedrooms with something warmer. Cheers!
