I do it the same way for dinner parties -- but add a red or blue dot sticker on the post-it. Red = girl and Blue = boy so a table isn't too male or female heavy.

I did it this way for my wedding too, but check out this site http://www.weddingwire... all you do is upload your guest list and you can make a virtual seating board. Pretty great!

I do this in my classroom. At the beginning of the year, I make a class set and store them to reuse. You only have to add or take away when students move.

There is free software that lets you do this. I believe it is called Seating Chart. I downloaded it when I thought there was going to be a wedding in my family.
