Pinterest is an online pinboard.
Organize and share things you love.
Color has to do with the use of hue or tint in artwork, design or in things we see in the world around us. It also has intensity (strength and purity) and value (the lightness and darkness of a color) These images have been pinned by group of fiber artists, participating in a collaborative project. We are collecting images that we find inspiring and that in our opinion; clearly demonstrate use of a particular element. Enjoy.

KIM FROHSIN BIOGRAPHY San Francisco artist Kim Frohsin exhibits new work that employs collage, paint, colored pencil, discarded paper cups, and other mixed media. In the series, which the artist sometimes refers to as Cokework, both the red color associated with Coca-Cola and the distinct shape of the original fluted glass bottle serve as unifying elements throughout.

color changing tiles! These are the "northern lights" style, which are dark at room temp and move through the color spectrum as they warm. Movingcolor.net has lots of style options, in many colors.

Karen R. A painter friend said to me that he looks at quilts and sees paintings...I told him I look at paintings and see quilts...This artist should work in cloth :)

Alicia Merrett Yes, it is very recognisable as such! I know she is 'Fibermania' as I follow her blog.
Alicia Merrett You are absolutely right. Links and acknowledgements are very important in Pinterest and everywhere else in the web. It is difficult to search when people do not use their real names. It took me a while to find Melody's boards, until I realised she was using her blog name, Fibermania - but I persisted because I knew she was pinning things, she said so in her blog.
Alicia Merrett Quite right!

Dianne Hricko I took her workshop... she is so very skilled with this and gives a great worskhop.
Alicia Merrett Lucky you! She is such a great colourist - I wish I could take a class with her too!
Dianne Hricko She teaches many places... she really is an exceptional teacher... and of course a colourist... but finding someone who can really teach is hard.

Igneous rocks formed from lava flows of the Archaean era (>2,700 million years ago) are often found to contain disequilibrium-textured crystals characterized by spherulitic, branching or dendritic morphologies that occur in layers near the flow surface.

Alicia Merrett I think I've seen this at the Van Gogh exhibition in London a couple of years ago. I didn't know how influenced Van Gogh was by Japanese painting.

Kit Vincent There has been a lot of buzz about this show, both positive and negative. On the web these are very photogenic - colours are rich. Wish I were able to see , for real. Those of you who can, how do they appear in real life?
Alicia Merrett I've got tickets to see the David Hockney exhibition at the end of February. I'm really looking forward to it. All my friends who have seen it are very positive about it and tell me the colours are just up my street! I've got an iPad, too - but I'm no good at drawing with it. My granddaughter is, though!
Kit Vincent Keep us posted Alicia!
Alicia Merrett Will do!

Lewis & Sheron Textiles. I don't think I've ever met a shade of blue I didn't love.

These distinctive webbed feet belong to a blue-footed booby of the Galápagos Islands. The bluer, the better: Courting males show off with a high-stepping strut—and those with brighter feet are more attractive to potential mates.

Karen R. This comes in a 1000 piece puzzle from Pomegrante...me and my family did this one a couple of years ago. :)
Kit Vincent A puzzle is a really great way to really "get to know" a work and so much fun to do with others. This one must have been stunning!
