Satanic leaf-tailed gecko (Uroplatus phantasticus) camouflaged in a national park in Madagascar
Is it a worm, a snake, a lizard, or something out of a movie? No special effects here; this is a ajolote, a reptile found in Mexico that has only two legs. It lives underground, where front legs for digging are more valuable than hind legs that would only be dragged along.

The Indian Pangolin (Manis crassicaudata) or Scaly Ant-eater is found in the plains and hills of India. It has large, overlapping scales on the body which act like an armour. It curls itself into a ball as self defence against predators. It feeds on ants and termites, digging them out of mounds and tree-logs using its long claws, which are as long as its forelimbs. It is hunted for its meat, which is considered tasty, and for making medicinal oil.
