Redken calls this Powder Grip 03, but I call it a miracle worker. Just a few taps of it, and my fine hair maintained both volume and style through a wedding reception held in a garden on an increasingly humid evening; $13.50.

Benefit ooh la lift is kind of a miracle in a tube. It's an eye brightener/highlighter. I saw one of the women at the Benefit counter apply it without a mirror, so I was intrigued. Indeed, it is goof proof. You can dab it in the inner corners of your eyes, pat it in a bit...and look instantly awake. Great for touchups on the go. Or, use it on the tops of your cheekbones (same method) for a pretty glow.

Katy Yahr This is one of my absolute favorites ... Different from the eye bright in that it's creamy. Eye bright tends to be more of a precision tool. I use this every day 2x a day... Have it in my purse & makeup bag. Fab. Love all things benefit!!!!
Paulette Heckman I wasn't impressed. Love the Benetint however
Stephane Mexicano WoOoOW:) This is kewlio:-P I woud like it if you checked out myyy board- laterz

Every morning I seem to smudge my mascara, and these pointed-tip swabs are my salvation; $8.

Maura Fritz I always seem to make a bigger mess with them. I like that these have pointed tips: They let me be very targeted.
Diane Kennedy The trick to not smudging mascara is to let it dry before you try to clean it up.

Nicole Perri I always wonder why these are so hard to find. Perfect for fixing raccoon eyes at the office.
Reagan Y. Almay makes the same thing and it's cheaper.
All-natural body scrub: three ingredients, hand-made in small batches, totally delicious; $22.

YSL's Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain is nothing short of miraculous. It is a gloss that stays on lips!!! You have to allow it to "set" for a minute after you apply (instead of blotting of puckering your lips), but then it can last for hours. This particular color, Violet Edition, is SO PRETTY.

Lather's Cucumber Milk Facial Cleanser is, as the name implies, a milky rather than foaming cleanser so it's very gentle and doesn't strip moisture from your skin. It is sulfate- and paraben-free, affordable, and ideal for dry, combination, or mature skin (a category which I'm really starting to familiarize myself with!).

Deborah Lippmann nail color in Glitter in The Air. I have about a million "favorite" colors from Deborah Lippmann. Glitter in the Air is one I keep coming back to because it's very sheer on nails, but has that hint of glitter that makes it very fun. It's basically a natural look with a twist.

Libby Hagedon This is such a fun color over pastels - I grabbed the revlon dupe "whimsical," it's great too!
Yvette Nichols Where can you buy this?
Hairstylist Julien Farel's e-commerce site will be up soon. Meantime, you can find his Vitamin Styling Balm on Amazon ($23). A stylist used it on my dry, frizzy ends this morning and it was truly transformative. A little goes a long way toward, smoother, healthier looking hair!

Whenever people ask me for help finding foundation, I send them to the drugstore for Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup. It blends incredibly well, offers great coverage, and is hydrating and easy to apply. And it's inexpensive!!

Chantel Acciaroli I really like the concealer version of this line, interested to try the foundation but not sure if its oil free?

Philip B Oud Royal Forever Shine Shampoo is the kind of product that makes you want to shake your head all day just so you can smell your hair. In addition to the really-expensive, exotic, spicy but fresh scent, you'll love how it works! Leaves hair extra smooth, and therefore, shiny.

Wends Bo OK, I'm sure this smells heavenly.... but $75? For shampoo, seriously?
Didi Gluck You are totally right, that's steep. I did notice there's a two-ounce travel-friendly size for $26, which is also expensive, but if you treat it as a totable, once-in-a-while spa treatment, it's worth it :)
Wends Bo Yes, that's an excellent point-- we all deserve a little pampering once in a while!
Katrina Swon If a shampoo hits over $25, that's a little out of control! But mini-pleasures are fantastic! :)
I have what the beauty biz would term “mature skin,” and it’s true: Lately it’s been looking anything but youthful. I’d never used oil on my face, but when this all-natural product landed on my desk I thought I would give it a try. In fact, the results are notable. I've been putting on a few drops at night in lieu of my usual moisturizer, and in the morning my skin has been looking fresh (even when I don't feel that way), a minor miracle. Suki Pure Facial Moisture-Nourishing, $33.

How cute would the original 1897 packaging of Shiseido's cult classic Eudermine look in your powder room? It's a "softening" lotion, which you apply between cleansing and moisturizing to make your skin extra hydrated and silky. It's available for a limited time in honor of Shiseido's 140th Anniversary. Get it at shiseido.com.

If you rely on dry shampoo as much as we do, check out Arrojo ReFinish Dry Shampoo. It absorbs grease, adds major body to hair, and smells SO good. Plus, it's a big can, so it lasts.

Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream Nail Lacquer. You might not think you can pull it off, but trust us, you can. Even though it has big flecks of glitter, the color is so unusual and sophisticated, that you'll look like a grown-up, not a little girl.

This might be my favorite conditioner ever. It's costly, so I use it judiciously, but it leaves my hair soft and shiny, and the light, fresh scent gently lures me to consciousness in the morning. Ah, Brilliant Glossing Conditioner, how I love thee!

Gina Verdult Regan What about his Glossing Shampoo? Good as well? Just found it at my local T.J. Maxx:)
sona The products in the stores are the older versions/formulations, which are still great, but the newer ones have the "advanced" listed on the side of the bottles, like this pic. You can only get those at the salons or website, fyi :)
Brenda Ellison thanks for the information sona! good to know
In love with Klorane's new Soothing Makeup Remover with cornflower in a pump bottle. Soothing, safe for sensitive eyes, not greasy, economical, hygenic...perfect.

Stila Jewel Eye Shadow is the best glittery shadow for grownups I've seen. It spreads smoothly across even crepe-y lids and adds the perfect amount of sparkle around eyes. People notice--but in a good way!

I have been using Sonya Dakar's Omega-3 Repair Complex for a week now. I have combination skin so I was dubious about using a facial oil. But this has left my face positively glowing, not at all greasy. Plus, it's not just adding hydration to skin, it's giving it the nutrients it needs to function properly. And it shows!!

Estée Lauder's Pure Color Intense Kajal EyeLiner in Blackened Plum is an easy way to get a smoky eye look in a fun color. Line inside the water line (inner rim, both above and below eyes)--and let the color migrate naturally into your lashes. Brush purple eye shadow onto lids to intensify the effect.

Dr. Loretta's Tea-rrific Mattifying Serum is a do-it-all wonder. I've been using it in place of my moisturizer (though you could use it under moisturizer for extra hydration)--and people have literally commented that my complexion looks brighter. Well, they tend to say "you look so well-rested!" It also fades dark spots I've noticed.

I always think of Tarina Tarantino as a hair accessory/jewelry designer, but wow, her mascara proves the woman is not a one-trick pony. It is super lengthening and non clumpy.

I almost hesitate to share my love for Si Lolita Eau de Toilette by Lolita Lempicka on Pinterest for fear that it will no longer be "my" scent. It's not too floral or citrusy, not too manly or girly, it's just like spring in a bottle. Fresh, green, and attractive without being overpowering. Simply love. Go sniff it at Sephora.

Covergirl and Olay's Simply Ageless Corrector is a must for your makeup bag. I tap it onto the dark blue rings under my eyes (over foundation). It blends seamlessly into skin, brightens your eyes, and doesn't exacerbate lines. Miraculous.

donna r monroe love this stuff. it now comes in a bottle, too. there is a "serum primer" also and i think it is worth getting. leave if off any of your oily areas, though.
I have used Elizabeth Arden's Smoky Eye Powder Pencil for years--it's the only one I wear down to a stump! It doesn't skip across crinkles in your lids, glides on like butter, and smudges the perfect amount.

On rainy, misty mornings in NYC, this is my weapon against dandelion head, that nimbus of frizzies and flyaways that springs up in wet weather. Just a drop—seriously, use only a drop; this is powerful stuff—keeps them at bay. Bonus for jasmine lovers: The scent is divine.

If you have sensitive gums as a result of aggressive brushing, you might want to invest in this toothbrush. The bristles come to a 45-degree "point." So you simply place them at the base of your gums and brush gently back and forth--without actually abrading your gums. Genius.

Anna Altman A 45 degree angle is the proper angle everyone should use to brush. Brush using a CIRCLE motion and GENTLY is the way to avoid gingiva recession. (I' a Dental Hygienist)
Marysia Starosta Better yet!!!! Get an electric TB better than anything else out there!!!!!
If you don't like the feel of sunscreen on your face, but feel guilty going without, check this one out. It's a light fluid that works for any complexion and, best of all, feels and smells like you have nothing on. It has mineral filters, so even sensitive types can use it. Spread it on under makeup or just wear it on its own.

Jude Linn Thank you.
Torri Shelkowsky I have this, its a great formula, super lightweight and not greasy at all. Doesn't make my skin oily in the heat either. Worth every penny! And I am mostly a Clinique person, but this Clarins stuff is great!
You will think I've lost my mind recommending a $50 lip gloss, but this one lasts forever and heals everything (lips, torn cuticles, cracked heels) overnight. Even my husband dips into it.

This super-gentle cleanser gets rid of makeup, has nothing icky in it (parabens, dyes, fragrance) that could irritate skin, and doesn't dry out your face the way some gels do. Works for all skin types.

I don’t know if I can pull off this color—I may be too Irish pale for it—but I think just looking at it would be calming. And Scotch Naturals polish is nontoxic, to boot.

Carole Oldroyd I thought the same thing, but it's absolutely beautiful on! I have that pale Irish complexion, too. If this one doesn't work, try one with a tiny cast of purple to it. :-)
Maura Fritz I just might have to try it, then. Love the color. Thanks, Carole!
Carole Oldroyd :-) I first noticed the shade on one of the girls in my doctor's office. I also have Sally Hanson "Gray Area." It's got that slight purplish cast.
