However, there is a less freakish point that this week's poster brings up. POTSC isn't asking about sharks who attack and eat people, not really. They say, "Jaws represents the unprovoked attack. The terrifying unknown, preceded by reputation and worst-case scenarios." Now, there's something we can all identify with. I've suffered a few shark attacks; haven't we all, but the one that bit the deepest was a shark named Lupus.

Let’s not look back with anger, and let’s not look froward with fear. Let’s pray for the extremists who feel the need to use violence to send a message just as often as we pray for those affected by the attacks themselves. Let’s become a nation of grace.
We are a people who are filled with fear. You see it in those suffering from anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, agoraphobia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I’ve heard it said that the opposite of fear is faith. What I see in those that have a deep-seated fear in their lives is the absence of a real faith. Also, the inability to love with an unconditional, no-strings attached love. These go hand-in-hand because God is love.

You never know when you’ll be the one to offer that chance to another, a chance that may make or break them. Forgiveness is difficult. Giving that second chance, especially if the hurt and broken trust from the broken first chance is still fresh, but that may be when redemption is the most needed – when we find ourselves the least ready to give it.
