Need to remember this ... so many clothes I thought were ruined... Chalk will remove grease stains from clothes. Simply rub the stain with chalk, then toss in the wash as normal.

Scrub your cast iron with coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt is a natural abrasive and will absorb oil and lift away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt and wipe dry.

Use baking soda and vinegar to fix funky towels... Full size Over time, and with many washes, your bath towels will build up detergent and fabric softener residue, leaving them both unable to absorb as much water and smelling kinda funky when they do. Rather than give Target another lump sum, run them through the wash once with hot water and a cup of vinegar, then again with hot water and a half-cup of baking soda, as wikiHow suggests. That strips the residue from them, leaves them smelling fairly fresh again, and makes your post-shower experience a dryer one, at that.

The "miracle" of baking soda and peroxide. Put 1/4 cup of baking soda in a bowl.....add enough peroxide to make a paste. Rub on with fingers or sponge. Cleans EVERYTHING! Stove, oven, pans, stainless steel applicances, even the white handles of the refrig door.

72 hour kits - the BEST article I've ever read on how to put a real serious emergency kit together!! Forget the pre-made ones or most of the lists you see online, THIS is the only list you need. (Keep in mind If an emergency is serious enough to warrant an evacuation, it's most likely going to last a lot longer then 72 hours).

Every single person I know who either owns or does laundry for someone who wears white undershirts needs to be aware of this. It's going to save us all a bazillion dollars.
