Grey Ghost - Photo and Comment By Etinne Oosthuizen. Often called Africa’s grey ghost, the Greater Kudu is remarkable in its abilities to disappear, they are able to fade back into the surrounding bush and thickets, as silently as they appeared.

The sperm whale is the largest of all toothed whales, making them the Earth's largest living carnivore and largest living toothed animal. The whale was named after the milky-white waxy substance, spermaceti, found in its head and originally mistaken for sperm. It has a cosmopolitan distribution across the world's oceans. The species feeds on squid and fish, diving as deep as 3000 metres in order to obtain its prey, making it the deepest diving mammal in the world. Netherlands

Seljavallalaug The swimming pool Seljavallalaug is situated in a short and a narrow valley at the foot of the Eyjafjoll Mountains in Southern Iceland. The local Youth Club built the old and unique pool 1923, where a still older and smaller one stood before. One of its long sides is the sheer mountainside, where natural hot water trickles into it.

A relic of the Iran-Iraq war, this oil tanker was scuttled near the Kuwait-Iraq border on Saddam Hussein's orders, to block access by sea to southern Iraq. Kuwaiti authorities are reluctant to remove the vessel for fear of damaging the wetlands of nearby Bubiyan Island, an important fish nursery and seabird breeding ground.

Fishermen's lights attract plankton, and plankton attract young whale sharks in Djibouti's coastal waters. In 2008 the United Arab Emirates banned whale shark fishing—a sign of growing awareness of the importance and vulnerability of Arabia's seas.
