Carex elata 'Aurea' -- A wonderful clump-forming grass-like sedge with bright golden yellow and green margined foliage. Tolerant of full sun to partial shade but the more sun the brighter the color. Shady situations will give a vibrant lime to chartreuse appearance. In early spring the emerging new growth has lovely golden tips followed by smoky dark seed heads on thin bright green stems. This clumping sedge is well behaved in the garden and will not self sow.

Spray the plant with Epsom salts (1 teaspoon dissolved in a spray bottle of warm water (about 4 cups). That gives the pepper plant a boost of magnesium that is required at flowering time to produce fruit. Spray them again 10 days later and in a few weeks, our expert friends report, you will have more peppers than you can eat.
