Pushing Boundaries

Anything that uses unusual shape, surface design, colour or texture that looks amazing will be pinned here!! Especially amazing jewellery or jewelry which ever your spelling preference lies!

Michael Berger loves transforming graceful hands into eye-catching stages. Appropriately, his hand-made collections feature kinetic jewellery pieces that move and spin on the wearer's hand. At first glance, his stainless steel or gold ring sculptures seem to be attractively heavy, clearly shaped pieces. It is when you put them on and start moving your hands that their full magic is revealed: the top elements, which nestle closely together, start to move and rotate.

RE.TREAT by Úna Burke This is a conceptual collection of wearable art pieces, depicting a series of eight human gestures associated with the cause, the physical and psychological effect and the healing stages of human trauma. Sculptural forms are created around the shape of the contorted female body. A number of pieces are reminiscent of prosthetics and medical braces. This signifies the potential for healing within the boundaries of something which inhibits the body.

This neckpiece by Justyna Truchanowska is from a collection based on an abstract interpretation of the plants. The materials used were chosen for their visual and sensual impact. Combining hand-made 100% wool felt and silver gave great flexibility as felt offers infinite possibilities for developing form whilst the nature of the material allows a myriad of colour and tones. Geometric silver units punctuate the larger felt pieces, accentuating their organic texture.
