Victoria Sifuentes I got really excited when I saw this a few pins back.. Until I read it take years before you'd actually see fruit :(

Profile picture of Rowena Murillo

Rowena Murillo I did actually sprout an avocado pit and yes it took months to sprout and then it grew about two feet tall and I must have done something wrong because it just died. But it's very hard to grow good avocados from store bought avocados. First, if you keep it in doors in a pot, you'll never get fruit, but if you grow it outside, you'll still have a problem because they often graft different fruit onto different roots and what will grow from your seed won't give a great fruit. My uncle has a tall avo tree in his yard that gives next to nothing in avocados.

10 Indoor Plants You Can't Kill --- Is this a challenge?

Emily Henzi I beg to differ, my mom killed a cactus from not watering it!

Profile picture of Laura D

Laura D I've grown a few of these. The only one I did not manage to kill was the ZZ plant. I think they're very good choices, though. My problem is I completely neglect indoor plants.

TUTORIAL I made newspaper pots to sow them in and get them started. The pots are super easy to make, free, and earth friendly. And once your seedlings are old enough to move out on their own you just pop them into the ground -- paper pot and all.

Highly recommend pruning your tomato plants. Last year I pruned half of each variety I had growing in my garden to see if pruning had any effect. I was amazed when the plants that I had pruned started producing, they had at least twice as many vegetables and they were of larger size. Not only did the pruning increase my overall yield on those plants but it also made the plants easier to train up the posts I had in place.
