Pipe cleaner toy. I'm feeling inspired! I think A would love this. Maybe use an empty Pringles container.

Wacky sacks. Just made one while A is napping. I *died* from immaturity when filling the balloon. We'll see what she thinks when she wakes up, but at least mama had some fun ;-)

Clutter Jail. If the kids leave it out, it goes in the clutter jail and they have to draw a card out of the community chest and complete the task to get their stuff back. Free printables!

ice eggs - Freeze balloons filled with water and small toys. Cut balloon off and play with eggs outside. Provide spoons for cracking ice and digging treasures out.

Toddler buffet. Fantastical idea for parties, playdates & just every day meal times.
supposed to be the best....This is the BEST BEST BEST play dough recipe you will ever find - I have used it for 8 years in my classroom. The kids absolutely love it. The recipe on this link is for a small batch - here is the classroom size batch, and we use a bit of baby oil in it as well to add a really smooth and soft texture. Parents rotate and bring us new play dough every week. The recipe: 4 cups water, 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 2 tablespoons cooking oil, 4 teaspoons cream of tartar, food coloring. Combine ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, until most of the moisture is absorbed. Store in a covered container or Ziploc – does not need refrigeration. Add a bit of baby oil to get a softer texture.

Help your toddler learn to put their shoes on the right feet with this quick tip.
"Trace the hand in pencil. With a marker, draw a straight line until you get to the hand. Then make a curve from one line to the next, then continue the straight line."
Cut up pipe-cleaners and place them in a bottle. Use a magnet to manipulate them. kids will stay busy for hours <- not sure about that last part, but it sounds fun!

Keepsake shadow boxes for newborn things. Must do!
Sponges soaked in finger paint. Stops children from scooping huge balls of paint on their paper! GENIUS!

Water Pinata - I need to make this for myself when I need to calm down/cool off. Haha.
An alternative to time-out. A friend of mine does this and it works like a charm. I keep meaning to make one of our own. The idea is that when a kid needs to tone down the rowdyness, they shake the jar and watch the glitter settle.
