In Harrisburg, IL, one family declined any aid from The Salvation Army, but trusted our officers to hold their baby so they could survey the damage to their home. Relief comes in all forms. We are so glad to be such a trusted agency. It's an honor we strive to live up to every day. ♥

The Salvation Army is no stranger to being one of the first to a scene of a natural disaster and is typically one of the last to cease serving. The Chattanooga mobile kitchen is still in the Apison, TN community and Long Term Recovery Workers are still serving the Tennessee Valley from the April 27, 2011 storms. The best way to help tornado survivors and rescue workers is to make a financial contribution. Monetary donations allow disaster responders to immediately meet the specific needs of disaster survivors. The Salvation Army asks those who want to help to visit www.disaster.salv... or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) and designate their gift “January 2012 Tornado Relief” Checks may be made out to: The Salvation Army Alabama Tornado Relief P.O.
