Before the ceremony, the couple wrote letters describing all the things they love about each other. The officiant had them place their letters into a box containing a bottle of wine. “Keep this bottle in plain sight in your home. Should your marriage ever hit a rough spot, before you make any rash decisions, open the bottle of wine, pour each other a glass, and read your letters,” he said.

Every guest put their fingerprint on the tree and signed their name. At the end of the ceremony, the bride and groom added their fingerprints on the swing hanging from the tree.

"Switch the Shoes The Bride and Groom each give the other one of their shoes and then stand back to back in front of the guests. The MC or DJ then asks funny what-ifs to the couple like “Who will take out the garbage without being asked”. The Bride and Groom then hold up the shoe for the one of them that they think fits the bill. Everyone gets a kick out of how the couple answers the questions."
