Too frequently firefighters come upon a car wreck where the mom is unconscious and there are children in the car who are too young to speak or communicate anything useful to the rescue team. ADVICE: Place a sticker on each child's car seat providing information that can help rescuers. Include: child's name & DOB, parent's names, DOB & phone, emergency contact info, child's doctor, any medical issues.

Children say the funniest things! Write them down, put them in a jar, and read them all on New Year's Eve. Having a bad day? Pull one out and laugh out loud. So therapeutic.

How to talk to little girls...a wonderful post that discusses another article in the Huffington Post by Lisa Bloom-June2011 (huff.to/yrqiBo) where she encourages adults to ask little girls about ideas and books, instead of complimenting their looks. Definitely made me think about what I say to my daughter and what others say to her as well. I really loved this! Would love to know what you all think too.

Settle Down Jar. It is really easy to make. The goal is that when they are feeling out of control, they shake the jar, then sit and watch the glitter settle in the water. When the glitter settles, they can get up. This one is a really great technique to use in lieu of timeout.

Fun idea: If you don't pick something up after one warning, this mom confiscates it and puts it in a "ransom box." The only way you can get it back is to draw a task from the envelope attached to the box lid. Her tasks are hilarious!

ha ha!! Ransom box: If you leave your stuff out after 1 warning, mom puts it inside this box and you can't get it back until you draw a job from the envelope and do it. (Her job list is hysterical.) Great idea.

It's called the ransom rubbage box. If you leave your stuff out after 1 warning, mom puts it inside this box and you can't get it back until you draw a job from the envelope- and do it!- doing this! I love the list of 'jobs' :) GENIUS!
