New York sculptor Robert Lazzarini investigates hyperrealism, but his use of skewed perspective offers a new interpretation of familiar objects such as a violin, a chair or a hammer. Fabricated with amazing veracity, yet extremely distorted, these ubiquitous objects appear to be pulled by some strange effect of gravity. Modeled on actual objects found in the artistís studio or the urban landscape, the sculptures are fabricated from actual wood, metal, plastic and bone, and are finished so that they bear the imprint of use.

Austin Danson no problem! :)
I designed and built this Ring Counter Clock in 1970. The back side of the base has been hollowed out to hold the circuit board. The copper clad board was made by making a drawing board layout on Mylar with tape dots and strips, twice the size of the board. Then a board size photo negative of the art work was used to photo print the board. This clock can maintain time of ±1 sec for months, and has been operating for 41 years.

"My name is Evan Hagin. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. In 2008 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I had years of treatment, including a bone marrow transplant which has left me unable to work to this day. Even though I cannot hold a conventional job, I craved an outlet for my ideas and creative visions. While studying to become a mechanical engineer I always specialized in creation and fabrication of prototypes, which led me to the world of steel art. Now I fabricate steel sculptures and wall hangings using a combination of state of the art computer-aided design software and welding as I create my interpretation of beauty. " There are more on his page, this one is $50

Take a piece of paper. Crumple it. Before you sink a three-pointer in the corner wastebasket, consider that you’ve just created an object of extraordinary mathematical and structural complexity, filled with mysteries that physicists are just starting to unfold.

Josh Draper i gave a lecture at Temple U. a couple years ago and I was asked how one should model crumpled paper. I did say that it was very complex but I don't think I realized just how complex until I read this article.
Nick Martinez reminds me of the mathematician Lakshminarayanan Mahadevan who studied things like how do flags flutter in the wind? and how do flowers bloom? http://www.npr.org/tem...
