"Beth Ann Grouell has dreamed of being a funeral director ever since she was a child, and she’s so dedicated to that dream that she drives five hours every day to study funeral services at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology. Here, photographer Matthew Ryan Williams catches her working on making a death mask." via soo oh

Jessica Golden This isn't disturbing. That is some brilliant engineering. The movement is so realistic, and the multiple panels for facial expression are genius. When it is complete, this will be a very convincing baby.
Michele Magnifico creepy
Melissa Davis His heavy breathing in the background doesn't help...
Peter Seidel Great you managed to make a robot that is helpless and does nothing.
Ozie Jackson So if I smash it, no hurt feelings right? Just toss in the recycle bin.
This is like the Un Uncanny Valley, the model before she was Richard D James'd

Claire Chauvin I mentally transplanted Richard D's face on this before I saw her actual face. Crazy!
Michael Almquist That's wild.
Michael Brownlee Me too Claire, honestly she's not too much of an improvement

Clothing giant H&M no longer uses real humans in its online catalog. The company has admitted that it pastes real models’ heads on computer-generated bodies.

Colleen Sanders Who cares if it's on a real person or not? You're not suppose to be looking at the person, you're suppose to be looking at the clothing. And the clothing will fit differently on every body. So comparing yourself to any body type (real or computer generated) will only bring you disappointment. They don't look cartoon-y. No one has been able to tell the difference. So really, what does it matter?
Java Blossom loving the cartoon idea,as i usually go for the minnie mouse look
Mike O'Connor I'd like to think, then, that the women whose heads are pasted on wouldn't have to starve themselves to keep the underweight body. The computerized model continues to signal the unhealthy, unattainable "ideal" body size. At least the company admits it. The purpose of the body should be to see how the clothing fits, but the side effect is using sex to sell clothing. It would be interesting to see digitized mannequins used instead.
Lynn Allen How would that suit look on a woman with breasts? How about a woman with hips? How about a woman with thighs? Turn the model around. Would it look OK on a woman with buttocks? Would this outfit look good on anyone other than a 10 year old boy? Questions that come to mind.
Marina Lazarovska that would explain so much!
yikes

Normal Vision people will see Einstein in the picture below / Short-sighted people will see Marilyn Monroe

anne peterson boynton that you're either a short-sighted normal person or a normal-sighted short person. (dumb joke. couldn't resist. sorry.)
Mel Kolstad Here it looks like Einstein but in the thumbnail it's Marilyn all the way!
Annie Wingen take your glasses/contact off then you will see the difference better!
Renee Marshall If you've had LASIK, mono vision, you can see both!
Sabrina Ozpazarcik I looked at the picture through the bottom of a glass and can see Marilyn, it also looks like Marilyn in the thumbnail.

This is Eguchi Aimi. She's the latest member of Japanese pop band AKB48 and a very lovely girl. But Eguchi Aimi is not what she seems. This Sunday, she shocked all her fans revealing her dark secret. She looks just like the others, all big eyes, juicy lips, perfect cheeks, cute chin, blinding smile and angelical look. Look at her sing. So cute. The fact is that yes, she looks exactly like the others. Literally. The big eyes, the juicy lips, the perfect cheeks, the cute chin, the blinding smile and the angelical look belong to the other six member of AKB48. Eguchi Aimi is not a real person, she has been composed in a computer using parts from her fellow band members. Her fans, who are legion, just learned about it this week, when this shocking video demonstrating the process, was published in YouTube.

Nicola F Vachon omg
Fetching pins…
Timo Ryttäri What's with the "it's CGI, not real"? I think thats quite blatantly obvious in this particular picture, but why should the method be taken almost as an insult as some of the comments imply? Now if this were a heavily edited photo should we regard this differently as the intent was clearly to produce as lifelike end result as possible? Technical merits aside despite the method this image would be and is just one of your standard issue "tits & arse" pics floating around the net.
