Life Lessons

I find this completely remarkable: Old People Line Up To Clean Radiation in Japan... Mr. Yamada: “I am 72 and on average I probably have 13 to 15 years left to live. Even if I were exposed to radiation, cancer could take 20 or 30 years or longer to develop. Therefore us older ones have less chance of getting cancer.” Retirees are volunteering to expose themselves to high levels of radiation so the younger men and women don’t have to.

Life lessons from a Holocaust survivor. 6. Complaining does not help. It makes everyone feel bad. Alice is anything but naïve and is acutely aware of the evil that has always been present in our world. "I know about the bad, but I look for the good," she says.

Spend time with your children

Uploaded by user

A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stamp on it and really mess it up but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty is was. She then told them to tell it they’re sorry. Now even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind....
