My favorite kids room ideas for kids bedrooms, bathrooms and playrooms
Love this retro pink table lamp! What a great way to brighten up a kids room!
Love this idea for a long cushion to top a kids storage bench or low bookcase for a kids playroom or kids bedroom. Makes an adorable window seat too! If you aren't particularly crafty and your bench or bookcase is wide enough what about re-purposing a lounge chair cushion? Shelf Expression - High shelving arranged with toys creates a three-dimensional border that's way more interesting than a standard wallpaper one. A set of frameless bird canvases by Jennifer Kiraly hangs in a neat row underneath. For more kids room decorating and organizing ideas visit www.facebook.com/... you may find something you 'LIKE'

Wall Good - Lime-green wallpaper on opposite walls makes the room look bigger -- and keeps the pink paint from overwhelming the space.
Children's Bookshelves - A ready-made plate rack can be easily transformed into a child's bookshelf, displaying both toys and children's books. You can also make your own shelves; just have all the wood cut to size at a lumberyard.
Activity Mat - Paint a canvas activity mat with an inventive map to beckon young travelers. For more kids room decorating and organizing ideas visit www.facebook.com/... you may find something you 'LIKE'

Weather-Coded Bureau - Personalize a dresser in a child's room with playful, pointillist motifs made with upholstery nails. The pictures can help kids remember where items belong (T-shirts go in the sun drawer, sweaters in the snowflake drawer).
Pumpkin Pillows - These decorating ideas for a kid's room will bring his or her imagination to life. Inexpensive and inventive, these ideas allow children to be the masters of their room's fate. These portly pumpkin pillows are a delight to the eye and to little bottoms.
Soccer Net as Headboard - Use Velcro to hang the net on the wall behind the bed to create an easy, sporty headboard. (The netting should be at least 39 inches wide for a twin bed or 54 inches for a full.) It's decor that can change as fast as his sideline sprints. Glow-in-the-Dark Stars as Nightlights - Create a well-lit path he can follow from his room to the bathroom. Line up stars near the baseboard and make sure they get plenty of light during the day. You'll get fewer bumps (or cries for Mom) in the night.

Love this idea of using action figures as hooks. The key is to position the arms of each toy straight out in front and then apply a two-part epoxy the arms, the shoulders, and the torso, following the package directions. The epoxy will make the outstretched limbs strong enough to support clothing, hats, and even towels. Mount a figure on the wall using two screws placed through the torso. You should be able to find epoxy at most home improvement stores.

Storage for Kids - Cubbyholes grow up and adapt to tween and teen storage needs. Square baskets fit into the cubbies of this wall shelving unit and give everything a concealed storage spot. Choose Closet Storage That Grows - To design kids' closet storage that grows with them, opt for wire closet organizers. The repositionable components can easily be rearranged to accommodate bigger clothing and different types of accessories as kids grow. Need more hanging space? Reassign a slide-out drawer unit as a desk organizer and add another clothes rod in the closet. Many systems have specialty pieces you can add later, such as shoe shelves and hanging baskets.

Paint a mirror frame with chalkboard paint. What a cool idea! Paint a dresser to match and then lean the mirror against the wall on top of the dresser to make the set look like one piece. The height of the mirror will draw the eye toward the ceiling making your room appear larger. Designer's Tip: Prime the dresser with magnetic paint if you want to attach permission slips, tickets, or other loose paper. Paint over the magnetic paint with two coats of chalkboard paint to finish.

Children’s spaces tend to become easily overwhelmed by all the small pieces that seem to multiply overnight. Giving everything a specific place allows for room for the fun stuff, like a stage fit for a prince or princess.

This playroom was designed as part of Make-a-Wish Foundation for a sweet little three year-old girl. Her wish was to have a fairy garden playroom for her and her five year-old sister. Her treatment means that she doesn't get to play outside much, so the purpose of this room is to bring the outside in.

Fun Additions - Bedrooms aren't just for sleeping anymore. This hanging bubble chair provides a unique place to read and study, as well as the "girls only" ladder-accessible secret hideout. To keep this spacious bedroom from getting cluttered, designer Randy Weinstein added plenty of storage options, from the modern open bookshelf to the built-in closet organizer. A map headboard - what a cool idea for a child who dreams of traveling the world! Decoupage paper maps to an old headboard (if you don't have a headboard, you can pick one up at a local thrift shop for next to nothing). Voila - a new headboard! It's that simple! -- Use decoupage medium to adhere them to a tired old headboard. -- Then let it dry.
Looking for a fun DIY headboard project? What about a kid's headboard made out of frames? Take two large shadow box frames and place them side by side or hang multiple smaller frames side by side to span the width of your kids bed. Fill each frame with fabric, decorative paper, photos and/or other keepsakes that coordinate your kids bedroom theme.
