Organize and share things you love.
It's often a challenge for parents to create a nice looking bedroom shared by a girl and a boy. Here's some of my favorite girl and boy shared bedroom ideas. Hope these ideas inspire some shared room designs of your own.
Space Saver: Pegboard Storage System, Step 6 - Paint with one or two coats of corresponding third and fourth colors up to the divided line; let dry completely and remove tape. Hang items from pegs and bungee cords and in baskets and buckets.

Bunking Up - In a shared room with ample space, loft two beds to give each kid his own territory. The top provides space for sleeping, and under the bed, kids can have a designated spot for their stuff.
Bunked - Custom-designed bunk beds include lighting, bulletin boards, and desks. On the far wall, a hockey-theme mural provides plenty of interest and style, but can be painted over as the children mature. Fun Times Ahead - Here's a new twist on bunk beds: Rather than having both beds point the same direction, place them perpendicular to one another. Coordinating bedding lets each child express his or her personal style. A black modular unit and cubbies above each bed provide ample storage space. Bedding, furniture, and toys in a bold orange color palette create a fun atmosphere. For more kids room decorating and organizing ideas visit www.facebook.com/... you may find something

Do More with Standard Closet Storage - Cut clutter in a reach-in closet by tweaking a standard closet system, no remodeling needed. First, designate the existing clothes rod and high shelf (where only parents can reach) for out-of-season clothes and items for safekeeping. Then add a second clothes rod or shelf (or both) along the bottom portion of the closet. Make It Easy to Get Organized - Make sharing a closet struggle-free for kids by clearly designating ownership. Label baskets, storage bins, and drawers with name labels or tags that identify each kid's domain. Or, in a solo closet, label types of clothing and accessories to keep things organized. Color-coordinated containers can do the trick, too.

I love how the blue and pink striped Pottery Barn Kids bedding is coordinated with solid green bedding in the same shade. The green really ties this shared boy and girl bedroom together. The use of bulletin boards and reading lamps help to divide the space while unifying it at the same time. The personalized pillows and wall letters help distinguish the individual spaces in a soft and subtle way that works nicely in the otherwise similar backdrop.

I love the boy and girl shared bedroom possibilities in this Pottery Barn Kids photo. Deep red and dark blue bedding (solid and plaid) works well with green used as an accent color. The white walls and bunk beds anchor the classic look of this kids room while keeping it clean and simple. With up to four kids sharing a bedroom, simple and uncluttered is the way to go.
