Have you ever thought about the VIP status you get from being a SAHD? I know, I've personally let dads (or moms) with screaming kids go ahead of me in line at the grocery store. So dads, if the opportunity presents itself, step up to the plate and claim your status!
You don't have to be Superman! It isn't healthy to try to do it all. SAHDs like SAHMs often believe that since they are the at-home parent it is their responsibility to do everything. Asking for help is always much better than getting overwhelmed and letting the stress mount.
Just because you're a SAHD doesn't mean you shouldn't take time out for yourself. In fact, scheduling in a little 'me' time is healthy.

Did you know that SAHDs can benefit from mingling with moms and their kids via playgroups? The key is to get out and socialize with like-minded parents and their children. Don't be intimidated because you're the only guy. Take it slow...sit back and observe until you feel comfortable.
Did you know isolation is the number one complaint for stay at home parents? SAHDs in particular often feel isolated and need to build a support system. Go online and see what kind of groups are out there in your area or start your own.
One of the greatest challenges of being a SAHD is establishing daily routines that work despite how differently your spouse may do things. Sometimes it isn't about doing something right or wrong - it's often about just doing something differently. Moms sometimes need to accept the fact the kids are thriving and respect how dad handles things.
So what are the duties of a SAHD? Parents.com recommends you and your spouse sit down and discuss exactly what your new 'job' title consists of. Sure, childcare is a big part of it but should the position also include cooking dinner every night, doing laundry and running errands?
Be proud of your decision to be a SAHD, hold your head up high and let the world know you're happy being Mr. Mom. Remember, you're doing a great thing for your kids and try not to get discouraged by other people's negative comments.
