Pinterest is an online pinboard.
Organize and share things you love.
I am continually amazed at the things people will believe simply because it is on the Internet. I really wish some people would use just a teeny tiny bit of common sense before they re-pin or re-post something. Fact checking is easy and keeps the pinner from looking silly, gullible, or flat out stupid.
There is no such thing as a negative calories food. For real. Do a little research and use some common sense, people.

If you'd done your homework, you'd know the difference between "your" and "you're". Just sayin'.
I don't understand how people can be stupid enough to believe this is Shakespeare.

baby sleeping in grandparents hands........ except it's NOT. I wish people would do the most basic of research before posting utter crap. Read the last paragraphs of this article: www.seattlepi.com...

Janna Mauldin Heiner Ah. But sometimes people are using the image as inspiration for themselves. That's what Pinterest is for many--an online artist's inspiration board. I realize Geddes went to a lot of effort to find the right combo of big and little here. But the possibility exists of setting up a similar pic with one's own father and baby. Not as expert. But still a beautiful memory. I have quite a few pins in which my personal note isn't really what the pic is about (i. e., a pin that says "DIY" under something that is being offered by a store). That's because that's my plan for the concept. I generally try to add a note that explains, but hey: I've got two two-year-olds. I'm lucky to get any time here!
Originally pinned as: "Easy Dulce de Leche (Caramel)" Dulce de Leche and caramel are not the same thing.
I keep seeing this and it's driving me freaking insane. ALLOWED. The word is ALLOWED.
A 5k isn't 6 miles. It's 3.1 miles. Also 5mins of running is a LOT if you've never run before. I prefer Couch to 5k.
Why do people keep referring to this as 2 separate water bottles? This is the front and back of ONE bottle. It doesn't make sense otherwise!!

I HATE THIS PIN. It's insulting and offensive to any woman who believes that women can be sexual and still be moral.

Kara Hudson And apparently showing your legs and your abs makes you the whore of Babylon. *eyeroll*
Janna Mauldin Heiner Funny...I always just thought it was about where one's focus was. I have a daughter. I hope she recognizes that she's more than her sexuality, because that's the message she'll hear and see most.
Original tag was #slowshutterspeed. That's not a slow shutterspeed. If it were, both people moving would be one long blurry streak. The only way to create a series of distinct images like that is with Photoshop (or multiple exposures, but I'm guessing Photoshop)
This has always annoyed me. Most women can "make people". That doesn't make you special. And for those women who can't and desperately want to, this is hurtful and insulting and obnoxious.
The original comments on this image were: ”THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES” - with a picture of a white woman being restrained by a black man. Racist much?
I keep seeing this image with the caption: "Can nature come up with colors like those?" Answer? NO. This is a tinted infrared image. It's not "real".
Close [sic] line with pictures. What annoys me about this is less the incorrect usage and more the fact that someone might actually not know that it's a CLOTHES line - for hanging clothes to dry.

People keep pinning this as a snow image. It's not snow. It's an infra-red image in the summer.

Somebody please recaption this. It's NOT Savannah. It's Oak Alley Plantation in Vacharie, LA

I am so sick of seeing this photo with people oohing and ahhing over it. It's fake fake fake fake fake. Use your common sense people. The uterus and all the layers of muscle, fat, and skin are too thick for the details of a tiny foot to show up. This is not real.

[*sigh* cause it's the camera that does the work, right?] Sony NEX-7 Camera $1,200 and up represents about as big a leap forward as we've yet seen. Packing a crazy 24.3 megapixel, APS HD CMOS sensor, it's capable of out-shooting most DSLRs, and also offers the latest Bionz image processor, an ISO range of 100-16,000, a shutter release lag of only 20 milliseconds, 10fps burst mode shooting, an integrated XGA OLED TruFinder viewfinder, a three-inch LCD display that tilts up to 90 degrees up or 45 degrees down, Full HD, 60p 1080 video recording, and, of course, a full compliment of Program, Aperture/Shutter Priority, and Manual shooting modes. #Sony #Camera

It's not winter. It's an infra-red image with spot coloring.

Amber Imperius I love your annoyance board, I have the same annoyances! My big one toady is that stupid baby hamster that everyone keeps posting saying "baby owl." Really people? Mammals and birds have very different characteristics. We start teaching the differences in 2nd grade.
Elizabeth Ahhhhh thank you!!!!!!! I feel like such a b!tch when I correct people on here but ppl shouldnt just be allowed to think these things are true!
Amber Imperius I rarely correct, I just roll my eyes! However, on one issue, I correct each and every time. There are a lot of portraits of babies and small kids holding strands of christmas lights, with comments saying "christmas card idea, etc."
Amber Imperius Christmas light wires are coated with a substance that contains lead. Babies chew on things. Lead and babies is not a good combination for your christmas card!!
Kara Hudson Yeah, kind of why I started the board. I don't want to turn into some kin of "Pinterest Nazi" but I cringe at some of the stuff people pin as fact.
People need to check the validity of their quotes. A little common sense would let you know that there was no such thing as a size 0 when Marilyn supposedly said this. Which she didn't.

Hahah. This is the heart and soul of my "annoyance" board.

The Whale… If you read a recent front page story of the San Francisco Chronicle, ... blah blah. [The picture has nothing to do with the story. Fact checking, folks.]

It is absolutely impossible for a 4 minute workout of any intensity to burn as many calories as a 60 min run. It also will not raise your metabolism for 36 hours. It's a nice intense little 4 min workout, but it's not going to change your life or give you *that* body. Stop fooling yourself.

Those of us who have them usually only have one. Apostrophes - learn them; use them. They're your friends.

Mark Twain never said "hang out". It annoys me when people attribute anachronistic glurge to famous people just to give it legtimacy.

Lindsey Hefner Stanford It makes a lot of sense, but I totally agree. I would have more respect for the originator if they just put their own name on it.
Kara Hudson I actually think the first 2 sentences are his, and possibly the 3rd as well. But after that ...? Gimme a break. :) I just wish people would think a little before they mindlessly repost stuff (here or anywhere on the Internet). One second of thinking would make you realize that "hang out" and "purpose filled life" are not phrases that would have been uttered by Samuel Clemens.
Fetching pins…
Lindsey Hefner Stanford it's not ShakespearE, it's Shakespear. Must be a modern day [horrible] poet.
Kara Hudson Ah good point!
