Exhibit Shelves from Pallets

My husband needed for his office shelf. And I knew exactly what for one. Something very simple. Something audacious.

While walking I found outside the house of our neighbors a lot of wood {1}. Including a couple of old pallets. And since I have just the shelf of Knock-Off Wood had discovered, I thought, why not? Why not save some work - and besides money - and instead of doing everything yourself, make use of existing resources?

So wait for the neighbors, tell him that you would help yourself because you and - whoosh - you have the good bits are on the terrace {2}. Because they were not the same wide, had a range of 3} {left and right cut off a piece of {4}.
Thankfully, my daughter was a leisurely afternoon nap and I could heavier guns than the Japanese saw fly.

So that the shelves have a better grip, I have increased by an additional board. For that I bought at the hardware store roof slats and connected flush with each second board of the range {5}. Looks like this {6} (if the palette around is wrong and you only noticed it now). If all the support boards are installed, the shelves (even old wooden pallets) through the batten screwed from below {7}.

If one has successfully brought the behind, if you turn both pallets and places them together and connects them with one long season left and right {8}.

Since you want in office rather not drill holes on the wall are the shelf can be alone. To achieve this, it is angled down {9}. But now with the Japanese saw.

Then, mounted a few more quest and you're the shelf by itself {10} + 11.

From the front the way it looks like this {12}. But it must be finished or painted at all (I used white paint glaze and painted without sanding off the rough boards).

And that was it. Done. Although taking longer than the Knock-Off Wood five-minute shelf, but not five hours.

Finish painted, set up and given it looks like this:
