No programming (it learns from how you use), it senses when you're home and when you're not and adjusts accordingly, it tracks energy usage and reports to you, and if you are returning from vacation you can connect to it via the Internet and tell it to warm up the house before you get home. If it could control humidity it would be perfect!
Add this to "One Day" stack, I feel i need to own a home before I can go and make a thermostat purchase. But the Nest is stunning.

There's nothing wrong with the programmable thermostat we have now but the wi-fi aspect of this is attractive. Is now available in Canada.

Kirsten Dearnley I own one for my apartment and it's better than you expect. Especially if you live in a hot place, like Dallas, you end up saving a fair amount on AC. Plus you can control it from your phone and it will learn your crazy sleep patterns. Very much worth it!
