I really like this. Too bad the original photographer (roux.deviantart.com) deactivated the deviantart account listed on the photo. I wanted to see more work from this artist.

Matt Maldre check out the link that this image goes to: http://fuckkyeahchicago.tum... it gives a location. :)

Profile picture of Matt Maldre

Matt Maldre yeah, i'm being a tease by not listing the location here. but i'm a huge fan of having people click through the images on pinterest, becuase then it becomes promotion for the person who originally posted/made the image.

Profile picture of Matt Maldre

Matt Maldre even though in this case it's the artist website that i linked to. but the tumblr post does link to the artist website.

Trying to track down the artist/source.

Poster Cred is an ongoing project by Seattle-based designer Joseph King that attempts to poke fun of the implicit credibility suggested by designers who photograph themselves holding posters for marketing purposes.

Leslie Kuo Eye roll. I chuckled at this, but it's just yet another design project whose audience is limited to other designers!

Profile picture of Leslie Kuo

Leslie Kuo No offense to you, Matt - it is a cool image. I just think the concept behind it is wack.

Profile picture of Matt Maldre

Matt Maldre Oh interesting @Leslie Kuo! Why do you think the concept is whack? Because only designers can like this? But wouldn't a regular person coming across this be able to enjoy it just for spooky hands? Do you think these photos can work on multiple levels? For the regular person it's just kinda funny to see the hands. But then for designers it works on another level with King's critique of other designers--which by the way I never knew that designers photographed themselves holding posters for marketing purposes. I, as a designer, just liked the illusion these images create.

Boxie is a mobile interactive robotic camera built with the goal of actively capturing stories about its environment and the people within it.

cut-out letters with a message.

I like the concept of the hook with the cloud. I could do something like this for my upcoming "clounds hanging from trees" series. (Surreal Collages by Philipp Igumnov)

Seeing these wire sculptures makes me want to step up my swinging dude sculptures. (Wire Sculptures by Barbara Licha)

Interesting. Put stuff inside ice. Hmmm, i could do this for the upcoming winter...

"the balls are available to anyone who wishes to accept the gift. However, the true gift comes at night when the phosphorescent balls glow, looking very much like heavenly bodies floating in space."

This is a little too dramatic for me, but fun nonetheless.

Even though I'm pretty sure this is not soap, it would be funny to make a soap carving and then float it out on the lake.

Kinda looks like a Mario Brother's game. or maybe Pitfall.

I'm trying to figure out if people actually leave the candles floating in the river. I'm assuming these candles are attended until they burn out.

OMGEEEEEEEE! I totally want to revamp my "Wire guy on a swing" series to be like this!!!

(Camila Leon) Simple repeated shapes. Here it's almost like casting a net. Nets on sidewalks are interesting.

I like the idea of public artwork having points. You collect points everytime you see the artwork. Let's take this idea further and maybe the art can have a QR code and somehow it will let each person keep track of their points.

Love. Take as much as you need. ♥

Heather Powazek Champ knits adorable little plant pockets and her husband, Derek Powazek, fills them with soil and live plants.

I kinda like this idea, but for plants... for my urban plant garden for the medians of lower michigan avenue.
