In 1968, Douglas Engelbart gave what’s come to be called “the mother of all demos.” In a single, live presentation, his team introduced watershed ideas like the computer mouse, hypertext, and video conferencing. But one idea from that presentation fell through the cracks. It was the chorded keyboard, a five-button peripheral that would allow someone to type one-handed, much as if playing chords on the piano. Jessca Marie There is a more efficient keyboard. My Mac allows me to change my existing keyboard to it in the settings. The keys are obviously messed up but it was fun to try. Our current style keyboard is designed to be inefficient. The makers of the typewriter needed users to slow down to prevent jams and however many years later thats what we are STILL using. Lol
