Michelangelo's Pieta. Scene from the Passion of Christ located in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. It is unusual, as it is the only piece he ever signed, after people thought it sculpted by another. He wasn't then known for his sculpture. The young Michelangelo, it is told, sneaked in to the chapel and carved his name in to the sash, but did so in such haste that he spelled his own name wrong.
