Using vintage ephemera such as advertisements, photographs, and postcards, Andy Burgess creates geometrical collages of cities with a Pop Art twist. Focusing on the skylines of Milwaukee and Chicago for his debut exhibition at Tory Folliard Gallery, Burgess incorporates typeface, text and other elements to suggest early 20th Century movements such as Suprematism and Constructivism with an American slant. Born in London and living in Arizona, Burgess travels the world for inspiring views and to collect materials for his work.
