Five years in the making, Mark Brautigam's personal quest to document the unconventional side of Wisconsin is completed. Brautigam highlights an idiosyncratic character that has become such a part of our immediate environment it is often disregarded. It is envisioning true beauty in otherwise overlooked settings that the artist has accomplished in this series of photographs. Brautigam has produced a limited edition twenty-five print box set of this work as well as a catalog with all the images from the series. Opens with an Artist Reception, on Friday, September 9th from 5 to 9 pm.

Tory Folliard Here is what Mark Brautigam has to say about his powerful series On Wisconsin: "I never set out with a specific theme or destination, only with the goal of fabricating a unique and personal portrait of Wisconsin, and uncovering some of its muted histories. The resulting photographs are ripe with beauty, isolation, humor, irony, melancholy, and destruction. Ultimately, they are a product of the hunger and boredom that is the natural rhythm of everyday life.
