Lauren Van Leuven You are teaching this boy that he is the center of the universe. I feel sorry for all of the women that he will be sorely disappointed by in his future. His poor wives.

Jo Fletcher My cousin (only 2 years younger than me) was breastfed by his (hippy) mother until the age of 5 and he turned out fine. In fact, he grew up to be a wonderful, caring man who had meaningful, healthy relationships with the women in his life, until he died a few years ago in a tragic accident. Making the grand, sweeping statement that breastfeeding a child to an age that "society disapproves of" will lead the child to have dysfunctional relationships as an adult is both wrong and ignorant. Would you have made that statement if the child in the photo was a little girl??

Maciel Gonzalez I watched the interview this morning on the today show and she seems to be a very mentally stable woman who was breastfed until she was 6. She said. I don't think it's wrong. She is a very committed person, I don't know if I'd do it for that long but I'm sure he'll grow up to be just fine.

Linda Mcginnis It is not the breastfeeding that will harm this boy....it is the fact his mother exploited him on a magazine cover that will harm him!!!!!

Carla Caviness This is not the photo that actually made it to the cover. The real one, is with her standing up and the child standing on a chair, "attached to her" both looking at the photographer. Much more blatant and in your face then the above photo. At least this one shows tenderness! The other photo has a look of defiance on the part of the mom, I'm not exactly sure of what I'm seeing in the child's face! If you are into attachment parenting that's great, but is it really necessary to shove a photo of breast feeding into the faces of America just to promote Attachment Parenting and Dr. Bill Sears, their "guru"? Yes....before I am jumped on....nursing is a natural act, I nursed, but I didn't push viewing it on to others whether they liked it or not! Being modest and mindful of other's discomfort and feelings about anything in life is a great trait to pass down to your children!
