Indoor Tulips . . . Step 1 - Fill a glass container about 1/3 of the way with glass marbles or decorative rocks. Clear glass will enable you to watch the roots develop . . . Step 2 - Set the tulip bulb on top of the marbles or stones; pointed end UP. Add a few more marbles or rocks so that the tulip bulb is surrounded but not covered (think support). . .Step 3 - Pour fresh water into the container. The water shouldn't touch the bulb, but it should be very close, so that the roots will grow in.

"Spray your weeds with diluted vinegar...not only will it kill them, but the plants and soil love it. Read how here, and see the before and after pictures. I just learned about this in my winter gardening class the other day and the teacher has done it for years." Brilliant, and so much safer for my kids to be around!

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds

Jaime Bowman i love baker's creek!
Tina @ Squirrel Acorns Good to hear! Johnny's Selected Seeds is located near us, so I usually buy all of our seeds there, but thinking about branching out into some new heirlooms that they might not have.
Jaime Bowman I use both...so far, all has been wonderful. We tried seed saving this year! I can't wait to get starts going in the garden.
The next time you have green onions, don't throw away the white ends. Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window. Your onions will begin to grow almost immediately and can be harvested almost indefinitely.

Celestine Payne So tropical
Garden Mum, Mammoth Daisy Red Very hardy & dense-mounded, not needing pruning or deadheading. Once established, they will grow to 3 feet tall, mounding to 4 feet across. Extra hardy compared to the common pot mums, plants overwinter dependably to Zone 3, and flower well in the south. With remarkably dense, tight habit, each plant gets covered with hundreds of colorful daisies. Does not need pruning, pinching or deadheading. Container size: 4"

Fetching pins…
Tina @ Squirrel Acorns Just planted allium gigantum in my garden last fall. It has started growing! I can't wait to see how it turns out. I've been wanting to plant them for years.
Heidi Murray Me too! I put a smaller variety in as well.
