Yes the Astros have struggled over the past few years but there is no excuse not to catch a game at one of the most spectacular ballparks in the US. Prior to the game grab a beer and relax at Home Plate Bar & Grill houston.citysearc.... It's right across the street from Minute Maid.

If you like Mexican food, and that's a pretty subjective question, then you should try Pappasito's Cantina. There are plenty of locations in and around Houston and the food's a hit with most any gringo visiting the Bayou City.
If you're in town the latter part of February through mid-March then you've got to attend the Houston Live Stock & Rodeo at Reliant Park. There's tons of stuff to see and do and plenty of food, drinks, and concerts to please anyone.
The Carolinas have Krispy Kreme...we have Shipley's Donuts. For over 75 years they have been serving fantastico donuts that include my favorite a cream filled chocolate topped donut that is to die for.
Houston, we have a brewery and it's known as Saint Arnold. You can take a tour Monday through Friday until 3:00 PM at a cost of $7 per person and it's well worth it.
Outside of oil and gas, Houston is driven by outer space. Do yourself a favor, if you have the time, to visit Space Center Houston. It's an attraction that you and your kids will always remember.
Do you like to shop? A majority of you on this site love to and when your're in my town you should make it a point to go shopping at The Galleria one of the most unique shopping experiences in the US.

Now you can find a Rudy's BBQ in almost any Texas metro area and we now have one that's located close to our neighborhood. If you live out of the area you should order some BBQ online and have it delivered to wherever you live. It's especially good in the winter!
