Jennifer Dessert Gorg...like summer in a quilt
The names ELMER, ANNIE and ROLLO are pieced into the upper top and side border of an eye-dazzling sampler quilt containing many different pieced pattern blocks. Who were they? Was this made as a wedding gift for Elmer and Annie if the last name was Rollo, or were the three linked together some other way?!

Alphabet Quilt; c. 1930-1950 Artist unidentified, possibly Randolph County, North Carolina International Quilt Study Center, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Robert and Helen Cargo collection A variety of feed sacks and other recycled fabrics comprise this lively quilt. The repetition of letters and the varied stitching styles lead collectors to believe that this quilt was a collaborative project.
