flattened cinnamon rolls as crust for apple pie. This was actually pretty amazing with just canned apple pie filling. I would recommend almost freezing the rolls first (out of the package) and then slicing them with a very sharp knife. Otherwise the roll slices get very oblong. Also, I would cook the rolls for a few minutes in the oven and THEN add the prepared filling. Otherwise the bottom ones just get a little too soggy.
