The kind you would have found in the 16th century. There was magik in these forests and always plenty of little folk. I wanted to evoke the deep earthy, green, the warm sunshine, and perhaps even the wind in your hair...as you quickly turn and notice the sparkle of the wee ones flitting past you. "Over hill, over dale, Thorough bush, thorough briar, Over park, over pale, Thorough flood, thorough fire, I do wander everywhere, Swifter than the moon's sphere; And I serve the fairy queen, To dew her orbs upon the green. The cowslips tall her pensioners be; In their gold coats, spots you see; Those be rubies, fairy favours, In their freckles live our savours. I must go seek some dew-drops here, And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear. Farewell, thou lob of spirits, I'll be gone; My queen and all her elves come here anon!" Fairy, scene i Pixie Dust botanical perfume was created specially for "A Midsummer Night's Dream ~ A Scent Event" that I organized. The premise was to create a perfume based on A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, whether that be on a character, theme or idea. There were 16 participating perfumers, and 12 blogs. The perfumes were then sent to blogs, and written about from June 14-24, surrounding Midsummer. A smattering of comments from the blogs that received Pixie Dust: From Ida Meister and Perfume Pharmer: Pixie Dust : a shimmering opening into a strawberry-scented sylvan glade. Very playful yet lingering, the fir/ strawberry pairing is a concept which works! The supporting, more resinous substances only serve to prolong longevity and accompany the theme, like musical variants...Ida Meister From WAFT: Tangy sweet/tart strawberry opens this concoction , and a true - to - life strawberry it is ! Pixie Dust happy opening is supported by earthy balsamic and woody notes making this an interesting and well crafted fruity/fun scent like none I have ever sniffed ! The fruity/woody poplar buds play off the strawberry beautifully , deepened by the fir balsam . Pixie Dust is contrasted and complex and full bodied yet still playful . Just beautiful ... From Scott Ellis and Le Parfumeur Rebelle: Pixie Dust is sweet and spicy. I definitely think of little fairies flying around when I smell this perfume. It is charming and whimsical and pretty strong, too. I like it. It has some little fairy huevos.
