Originally from Plow & Hearth but is now discontinued, this is very DIY-able. I think I'd like a longer one for indoors (for a buffet or desk), and either decoupage art on the flip side, or make it a chakboard.

Emily Bartnikowski I painted our foam mats this summer and here are a couple of tips: 1) good primer. thick and sticky so the paint will stick. (you're painting the smooth side of the tiles) 2) paint them apart for all the solid colors, but be careful of drips down into the interlocking parts. Make sure you coat it really well with sealer. One of our squares didn't get such a great sealer coat and there are scratches down to the foam from our cats - just on that one so I blame the sealer. Have fun! And post pictures :-)

Jenifer Woodring-Arnswald Love it! As a mother of 2 somewhat grown daughters, I will say, my husband passed the test. He wasn't perfect, missed a few of the rules, but my girls are 21 and 24 and they are everything we ever wished for them (and no I didn't type wrong-we teach, guide, direct, however you want to call it but in the end, they are and will be whom they want) Thank you for posting-beautiful!
