There's nothing more satisfying than to grow your own roses. They are beautiful. Many are very fragrant. You can be the master of your garden; and your roses will attest to that fact. Roses can be the crowning joy to your yard. They are not that hard to grow. If I can grow roses successfully anyone can. I was able to successfully grow my own roses as a green-horned gardener. You can too. My dad was a real green-thumb gardener. He grew vegetables, fruits, trees, and many varieties of flowers. His favorite flowers were peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, and bleeding hearts. He never grew roses. I purposed to grow roses long before I had my first patch of soil to grow anything in. I used to pour over his flower books as a child. I remember drawing pictures of roses and coloring them with pastels. This is where the desire to grow roses took root in me. I didn't know it at the time...I just knew I liked pretty flowers and roses were the prettiest. They became my favorite flowers at a very early age.
