Grace Claudia, we got some that were "firm" but not "extra firm" or specifically for side sleepers. They are too soft and my neck always hurts, or shoulder, and it gives my husband headaches. I really wish we had side sleeper pillows. Also, these come in down-free if you prefer.
Mary Beth I am the opposite. I must have a soft down pillow that practically sinks down to nothing. Otherwise, I risk a sore neck. I even have to travel with it, which I consider very "little old lady" ish, but it makes such a big difference.
Grace @Mary Beth, are you a back or stomach sleeper? I think if you are a side sleeper, you are more prone to shoulder pain if your head and neck aren't adequately supported. The spine is supposed to be aligned when you sleep, which definitely is NOT the case in my life right now.
Claudia Miller Did I tell you I had to go to PT for a sore shoulder? I though it was because of the weights at bootcamp but it was decided motherhood (pregnancy and nursing) has much more to do with the pain. I'm a slide sleeper and have a "better" pillow now to support my neck/spine right now but C needs a new pillow. I will look into these.
Grace @Claudia Miller, No, I had no idea! T probably needs surgery for his shoulder. He's tried PT off and on for years. We keep putting it off because he's been living with it, but it's not getting better (obviously). Now I'm developing many of the same issue as him. I do think it's sleep related to a large degree.
