all you have to do is put the headband on top of your hair (while your hair is down) and then grab your hair at the back and tuck it into the headband. The messier the better!

Grace We tried it on Elisabeth's hair last night and it looked OK. We could have done a better job -- smaller sections, probably, and if we'd used some product to texturize her hair a bit first.
no heat curl using head band the night before- I think I may try this tonight and see what happens!

Martha I tried this and it fell out right away in the morning, and my hair typically holds curl well. But, I didn't put any gel in it beforehand, so that might have helped.

Grace I can't figure out what the front would look like. I worry that without bangs, these hairstyles might be kind of a challenge. I can't cut bangs because my hair doesn't behave in them. I wanted them so bad a few years ago and they were a failure.
Grace Yeah, I clicked through, and she totally has bangs. Sigh.
Martha You could easily do fake bangs. Twisting back a small section so that it is pinned back into the hairstyle. Or side part. I wear my hair pulled back a lot and just pin my bangs out of the way when they're acting weird.
Melissa Bridgman yes, just do a low side part and pin the swoop across your forehead. you don't have to scrape it back. I fight with my bangs all the time. They're always pinned to the side.
