I want a Great Dane terribly bad too

Sarah Jackson This looks so much like my Charlie, if you ignore that Charlie mostly looks like a golden. Also, he's the size of an adult human, so keep that in mind if your house is not so big.
A great dane is in my future.

Gwendolen Elliott Do you know that we have a Dane/lab cross? Gentle giant and so very good with Chloe. They are the best dogs!
Great Dane and bride ♥

Grace Are they hard to train, I wonder?
Martha We rescued ours as an adult, but she's been amazingly easy to train. And they really rely on routine, so she totally knows when it's her turn for something - like her walk time. Or, here's a good example, we were letting her on the couch, but have changed our minds. And within less than 2 weeks she won't get up on it now. Not that she doesn't look at me and want to. ;)
Martha Oh, but I probably wouldn't do two dogs at once, since Great Danes are so big.
Gwendolen Elliott This looks like our Scout! Scout is a little smaller and has black paws with only a touch of white on the back of them.
Gwendolen Elliott And he leans! (he loves the couch too but that's not allowed in our house either). We rescued him as a pup- he was 4 months old and he curled up in my lap at the shelter and fell asleep! I had no idea he was a Dane cross, but we have been so blessed. The amazing temperament makes their size so manageable.
I Want You Back: Jackson 5. Loving this so much this week (like I ever don't love it? Like I ever haven't since I was born almost 34 years ago?!) I've just been enjoying it extra this week. :)

I don't ordinarily share this kind of thing ... I am not a huge HP fanatic (though I've read all the books and seen all the films), but this was incredibly sweet. They really were so little at the beginning! So precious.

OK, so I am kind of, sort of starting to like cats. And of course this is just perfection with the braids and the stripes and the color. {I wish so much that I could find a source for this}

Grace Also, 1. Was Rodrigo Santoro's hair really that mullet-ish in the film? 2. OMG, what is up with Andrew Lincoln's clothes? 3. Wasn't Keira Knightley like 16 when this was made?
Sarah Lightner I love, love this movie. I watch it every December!
Grace It is in my top 5 favorites, sometimes it's even my #1. :) But I haven't watched in probably 2 years, and it's amazing the details you forget. Also, the way you change over time and see things differently. Like, when it came out, I was all about Colin Firth (still love him), but Rodrigo Santoro wasn't that appealing, though now he really is.
Sarah Lightner Ah, I love Laura Linney so I've always love that storyline. What's the movie in with Mark Ruffalo when their dad dies- also a good one. That wedding scene with "All you need is love," is classic. I might just have to watch before Dec.!:)
Grace Yeah, I might watch it tonight, or else I might rent Jane Eyre ... what to do, what to do?

Katurah Richmond It's never the pathetic looking photos that break my heart-- it's the photos like this that show how lovely they are.

Amanda Wheelock there's nothing quite like it!
Heather Cates Love this. Having babies is amazing. Having them at home is beyond words.
Grace It really is, @Heather Cates! I'm kind of addicted to it. I hope I get to have at least one more baby. Because of the whole thing, of course, not just the homebirth. But the homebirth is part of it.
braid? sweater? this defies categorization.

Edelweiss with Christopher Plummer's own voice (one of my favorite songs ever, I cry every time I sing or hear it. Anyone with me?)

Kirsten Cantrell i recently got to see a live (outdoor!) performance and it was wonderful. and they let the audience sing along at certain points. there is something about that song... and NO ONE needed words for any of the songs - awesome.
Sarah Potts When I was a little girl, I thought my grandmother was the person who made up the song "Edelweiss." It always reminds me of her!
Grace Oh, Sarah, that's very sweet!
Grace Upon watching this, I'm realizing that this turned out NOT to be the one with Christopher Plummer's own voice. But if anyone wants to see that version, it's here: http://vimeo.com/4143597
Briana Enderland my 5 mo. old granddaughter is named Edelweiss
Oh my goodness.

Alicia Crane Alferman this makes me wish I knew how to make little films.
Grace I love this so much it makes me weep.
Grace I couldn't pin the vimeo version of this, but I think it had sound at the end where they're just talking to each other, like you could just barely hear their voices or something.
Handmade felt British foods. I love the boiled egg & soldiers, the biscuits, puddings, and basically everything. She is incredible!

Jennifer Donat Me too!
Grace @Jennifer Donat -- same birthday AND same favorite book? wow!
Fetching pins…
Grace Also, yes, I love pirates apparently. And I mean that I am swooning in the most chaste way.
Kate Anderson HA, I don't think it's even possible to swoon at this particular pirate in a chaste way, at least not for me!
Amy Kudej He's made me realize I, too, love pirates. Or, him (as a pirate).
