SPM offers very useful crochet information for knitters. "In short, even if you don't enjoy it (and nobody says you have to) being a hooker is a good way to solve some of your problems quickly and easily, especially if you happen to be loose."

Sarah @Place of Verdure Yes, it wouldn't work with this yarn, but a felted version in a cheaper, feltable yarn might be fun to try. Obviously with a test swatch...
Gina Gerboth I also do not like the 80's-ish primary colors. I would pick different colors.
Grace Oh, I don't think it looks 80's-ish at all! It's meant to look like those old, old Pendleton wool blankets, like from the early 20th century. My grandparents had some that were from the 40's in this same color scheme.

Gina Gerboth Maybe. The colors in the old one are way more subdued though.
Solitude yarn sells broad range of breed specific yarns - and loads of good info too.

Melissa Bridgman I have one of their sock kits. one of the nicest gifts I've ever gotten.
russian join... start a new ball of yarn without weaving in ends! {I'm going to see if this works with the cotton-silk blend I'm using right now}

Claudia Miller Oooh, this is beautiful! Will you help me make it once I get past the beginner steps of sewing? I don't care if it takes me a year! ;)
Grace Oh, absolutely, Claudia! This is actually pretty beginner-ish ... you could probably start it now. :)
