The #1 complaint we received about cutting wire is that a customer's cutters aren't cutting well anymore. Unfortunately, it is TOO easy to confuse HEAVY wire cutters with HARD wire cutters. HEAVY wire is a thick wire...12 -16 gauge (2mm - 1.2mm thick). HARD wire is a type of wire, not a thickness, such as stainless steel and memory wire. Even thin 28 gauge stainless steel wire will permanently damage cutters if they are not SPECIFICALLY made for HARD wire. These Xuron HARD wire cutters are best!

Did you know that oval jump rings are stronger than round jump rings? The joint on an oval is on the side, the place where the least amount of tension whereas the joint on a round sometimes is just where you want it least and POP! We recommend doubling up rounds when they might be subjected to a lot of tension. Soldered rings, thick gauge rings and ovals are all good options.

We stopped selling necklaces with silver plated chains about 5 years ago because we could not find an inexpensive GOOD quality chain...but we have one now!
