Cool the kids off with a homemade sprinkler. Take a 2 liter soda bottle, poke holes in it. Attach to a garden hose via a male to male adapter that cost less than $5 at Lowes. Toss over a tree branch and let hang. You can adjust how the water sprinkles by adjusting the water flow. When the bottle gets stupid, just switch it out with another bottle, no additional cost!

Carly's chore chart. She moves the clothes pin from the "to do" side to the "done" side. She painted and decorated it with a little help. It hangs on her door. Pretty effective so far. She is only 4 1/2. (just wish I had gorgeous handwriting).

Looks similar to the "mom store" i have during holidays. // When the kids do their chores right away, with a good attitude and do them according to “mom’s standards” I reward them with a few points. They save these points and then at least once a week we open the family “store”.
Road trip clips: One clip for each kid.... If they are sweet, clip stays up, if they are not, clip comes down. Everyone with a clip on the visor gets a treat at the next stop. From here: lessthanperfectli...
