My mother is a brilliant seamstress and my father is a creative type. My mother sewed clothing for myself and my 2 older sisters out of necessity. Inevitably, it came to a point where they (being teenagers) wanted store bought clothing. I was appalled! I NEVER wanted the store bought clothes.

Stefanie Gutierrez’s only concern was playing sports and the only fashion sense she had was making sure her sneakers and shoes were in top shape (still true today). Although running and playing filled her days growing up, she always had a sense of wanting to look unique and different from the rest.
