ALTERNATIVE ACRYLIC PAINT BRUSH CLEANER!! Store bought cleaner can get expensive....Lysol Pine Scent cleaner actually emulsifies the paint/brushes come out like new. Also cleans clothes & doesn't harm material!
Good old Martha taught us that rather than buying those ridiculously expensive anti-slip mats for a rug, just turn it over and run a few lines of acrylic-latex caulk every 6 inches or so. Let dry and flip over and your rug wont be going anywhere!

If you have grease to get rid of, just take tin foil and put it in a bowl. When grease hardens ball it up and throw it away! I can't believe I never thought of this before. No more of those "grease jars" that I have under my sink!

YES! If you petrify a brush with dried paint, just soak it in Murphy's Oil for 24 to 48 hours and it dissolves all the paint and makes it like new. Must try

Paint like a pro. To make a splatter shield for when you’re painting a high surface, cut a slit in the center of a lid and pull the paintbrush through.

Protect awkward objects with plastic wrap Glad Press'n Seal plastic wrap (available at discount stores) goes on fast and stays right where you put it. Paint can seep under the edges, though, so it's no substitute for masking tape in spots where you need a sharp edge.

If you have a tight spot to paint, remove the pad from a paint edging tool (about $2 at home centers). Hot-glue the pad to a stir stick, and you've got a painting tool that will fit behind toilet tanks and radiators.

Another Pinner said "I had to repin this because I've done it, and it really works. Tie a baggy of vinegar around a shower head, leave it there over night, and it will clean all the residue and lime away!"

The "miracle" of baking soda and peroxide. Put 1/4 cup of baking soda in a bowl.....add enough peroxide to make a paste. Rub on with fingers or sponge. Cleans EVERYTHING! Stove, oven, pans, stainless steel applicances, even the white handles of the refrig door.

Tina Pee-Glaze This is a good idea
Sharon Carter-Backes OMG,What a GREAT idea!
Sandy Clingerman I do this when I paint and it really saves time and the mess. Also, buy 2 gallon zip lock bags. A lot of times it takes me a day or two before I can get back to painting the second coat. I put my roller and brush in the zip bag and it won't dry out. Once I am done with that particular color, I can just throw the roller away and rinse the brush.
Lynn Tieman When you are still painting same color and need a break you can put the brush and roller in those plastic bags but also add to the refrigerator for overnight keeping. It will stay moist for several days.
