Grab It! Crewman of an Amtrak Crescent has just snatched paper orders from the tower operator at 14th Street in Birmingham, 1983. The paper was rolled in string and attached to the hoop. "All" the crewman had to do was put his arm throught the hoop from the moving train, capturing the string with the attached orders, usually about expected meets with other trains. By esywlkr

Former Gov. Don Siegelman has fought his share of political and legal battles. So what's absorbing a left-handed blow to the head in the boxing ring? "I think he loosened my right eye socket," Siegelman said Saturday night after an exhibition boxing match against his karate sparring partner, Jerry Schnader. The three-round bout was part of a fundraiser for the Levite Jewish Community Center, American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.
